Tanker Pacific Offshore awarded Letter of Intent for first FPSO in New Zealand

Tanker Pacific Offshore has been awarded the Letter of Intent by OMV for the engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning and operation of FPSO in Maari Field, New Zealand. The FPSO is Tanker Pacific Offshore’s first floating production project. The contract scope includes provision and installation of risers and umbilicals as well as operations and maintenance of the wellhead platform.

The FPSO will be designed for continuous service on site for minimum 15 years and will be permanently moored in 100m water depth utilizing an internal turret supplied by Norway’s Advanced Production and Loading.

The unit will have a processing capacity of 50,000 barrels per day of fluids, 40,000 barrels per day of oil and water injection capacity of 40,000 barrels per day. The FPSO will also have 3 X 7.8 MW steam turbines driven by 3 X 100 tons deck mounted boilers.

Tanker Pacific Offshore will convert the 550,000 barrel oil tanker “Andaman Sea” from its pool of conversion candidates. The conversion will be done at Jurong Shipyard in Singapore. The FPSO will be delivered in 2008.
